Remus is a werewolf. Ever since he was little he had to struggle every month with this, and the fact that his own father hated his kind.

Sirius is the oldest child of the Blacks, and has had years of abuse under his own mothers thumb.

But both boys are off to Hogwarts. It was 1971 and they couldn't wait. They had no friends at home, but they both doubted they would have any there either. Is it just luck, or something else, that the boys find each other and get sorted into the same house along with two others they meet on the train. They are quick friends. But will there friendship turn into something more?
