James looked quickly away from the boy sitting on the rusty picnic bench, trying not to maintain eye contact.
"We need to talk," he said, sitting down in the opposite seat.
"Tell me about it," Henry huffed, leaning back and crossing his arms.
"What," James began, not sure how to address the obvious topic in front of them, "what was that last night?"
Henry let out a long sigh as he sat up, resting his elbows on the rickety wooden table.
"That," he replied, "was a vampire. And you weren't supposed to see that."
