Esryn Csorival is nothing if not loyal to her family. Even if it leaves her starving in a circus, whipped for not being able to control herself, or thrown into a death match with other magic practitioners.

She grew up in the circus, knew every in and out of the place there is, and at age eleven when her mother suffered an accident that left her unable to work, she became a performer herself, practicing the magic of Folding while hiding magic of a more dangerous and valuable kind. But now that she's entered a death match with other powerful practitioners, the part of her she once feared may become her only salvation.
