Graham eventually speaks to Carmen himself and they decide to go their separate ways, though the decision is painful for them both. But they aren't apart for long before V.I.L.E. rears its ugly head. Danger once again causes their paths to meet, and Graham and Carmen find that their feelings might run deeper than just friendship. But there's not much time for soul-searching when V.I.L.E. is threatening to steal something more important than money: Their lives. Though reluctant to accept at first, Gray realizes that maybe Carmen isn't the good guy she claimed to be after all, and as the only link unassociated with la femme rouge or V.I.L.E, he takes up a black suit and becomes: Agent Gray of ACME.
