Emerson Rose is many things.

She's a faithful girlfriend to her possessive boyfriend, Brody. She's an obedient daughter to her considerably controlling mother. She's a reluctant finance major in her second year of college. She's a determined wanna-be writer in her free time. And she's a loving dog mom to her eleven year old German Shepard.

What she is not, however, is bold or impulsive. So when she is somehow able to stop an alley fight in the dark of night and save a handsome stranger from a gruesome beating, it's not exactly a normal occurrence.

Emerson expects this to be an isolated incident. She doesn't plan on ever seeing this stranger again and she's even able to forget the whole thing ever happened.
