Seventeen year old Violet Becker has had a tough previous year. With her parents dying she was forced to move away from Her child hood best friend Adam and her life in Portland Oregon. Being forced to move to Seattle Washington with her somewhat unstable aunt wasn't 

really a highlight of the summer.
With the long dreadful summer coming to a end the beginning of senior year begins at a totally different school not knowing anyone. Along the way she meets Jay. A boy that sees the brokenness of violet and slowly try's to pick up the pieces with he's funny words and toothy grins.

Violet always had a talent for the piano that was hard to go unrecognized. With not playing in what felt like forever, she slowly started to play again trying to get through the pain that was lurking throughout her but the real thing that started to help her through the pain appeared to be Jay.
