I was standing alone there while all other were with their families. I didn't have parents and I was a nerd who always stayed alone and didn't hang out with anyone.
The earth was going to get destroyed. It was in the news that a blast wave is wiping everything leaving nothing behind, not even our homes. Some parts of the world are already destroyed. So, nations are coming together and people are being transported from the earth to space. Today was our towns' turn.
But I was dragged down to the court. Will I get onboard on time or will I get washed away.

The Day We Left Earth
If we stayed there any longer, we would have died. Earth was no longer our home, but instead a barren waste land from which we had to escape. Its calm blue oceans were replaced by big empty pits, and the green grass which used to cover our planet has now died, leaving all ground we tread on brown. The sun was getting too close to earth. It was going to explode soon, meaning we would have to leave. Either that, or die on what we called home. Not everyone left, not everyone was saved, but most of us are here in our new home. In my world you have to be one of the Elite. After graduating from 8th grade it is a shitshow. You wait long intense nights filled with fear because you know one day they will come for you. They will get you mark my words on that. One day you will be ripped away from the comforts of your own home and shipped away to the cruise. None of the adults speak of what happens on the cruise. I can tell based off of the haunted look in there eyes it's nothing good. I've heard tall tales of a place full of hopes and dreams. They call this place High school. High school is just that though...a dream. In the real world all we have is the cruise. The cruise where some never return from. In my world it is survival of the fittest. Children of the Ark ✔️
Every three years a group of two-hundred teens get sent to Earth. After spending two years on Earth, you can choose to go back onto the Ark or to stay on Earth. Most don't survive the first week. They get to either join a Clan, create a new Clan or go solo. If your name is called out, you have to go down. You have no choice. Almost everyone joins a Clan or makes a new Clan. Nobody goes solo, unless you absolutely have to. Or if no Clan accepts you. Every animal on Earth wants to kill humans, they have all mutated after the Nuclear War, all the ones that survived, and are out for human flesh and blood. Bastien Water's name gets called out during the Choosing and he has to try to survive on Earth. While his family grieves thinking that Bastien won't survive but he's out to prove them wrong. Bastien meets new people, makes some friends and make some enemies. Bastien has to face many challenges to survive on Earth. Will he be able to do it?
