A girl named Katie and her father's house was destroyed by a tornadoe. After grieving, her father decided to live with his friend and his family until the house is rebuilt. When she meets the Hughes family for the first time, she realizes that this was going to be a tough year. A boy her aged named zach, that was a Hughes, was the guy she has a crush on ever since freshman year. 

As she lives her new life, she realizes that Zach was different than she imagined. Would she change her mind about him or still love him with all her heart. 

As Katie goes on through high school and college, she will finally understand what love means.
