He sighs deeply, slowly exhaling the air his lungs have been collecting for this whole conversation. "I suppose I've got nothing to lose."

"That's not true either," I point out. "You can lose your work, your limbs, even your life, all because of this. But I could make you lose those things even faster, so it doesn't matter anyway."

With piercing eyes, emerald shining bright in the morning sun, he's now blantly staring at me without any shame.

"I've come to the conclusion I underestimated you."
