As for the male students, he subjects them to an utterly ruthless training regimen that many of them compare to torture, and will even use as punishment if his team loses a game. As such, he is an utterly cruel and diabolical person until a group stops him known as the Phantom Thieves of Heart. Sick of the deception, hypocrisy, and corruption around them, the Phantom Thieves are devoted to "stealing" the corrupt hearts of evil adults in order to change and reform society for the better. After taking down Kamoshida, their population slowly grew more taking down one target after the next. Before long they were known as a famous group working outside of the law. The Personas they use are formed by individuals who find themselves in the Metaverse and are dealing with feelings of frustration of being wronged or taken advantage of. Each Persona is different for each member of the Phantom Thieves each passing unique and special powers.
