Colette Long is the definition of a stubborn new girl at East Oak High School in Oakland, CA. While adjusting to her new atmosphere, she meets a unique group of friends. First she comes along Darwin, a lead wrestler and obsessed with kindness. Then among the iconic octagon lunch tables, she meets Selina Rich. Selina's the definition of hilarious and beautiful. Next is Chad and Tara Reynolds. The two twins may share a birthday and last name, but prove to be now where near the same. Afterwards Colette is introduced to Michael Bass, a great basketball player with two mothers, one of which is principal. Next is Erin Deet, "baby" sister to the school's golden boy.  This leads to Colette meeting the most mysterious of them all, Carson Deet. Despite his nickname, Deeter, Colette begins to uncover Carson's secrets and true personality. In between all the discovering, they find themselves in love. What happens when the belief of pure love is demolished? Will even overall friendship be broken?
