In our heads we were sisters, and at the time we were our mothers' only children. We didn't know the turmoil festering between our mothers, we were kids, we didn't how bad or harmful the world could be. Though we'd soon learn. Even children are exposed to the cruelties of the world, it's unfortunate and sometimes life-changing but it's how our world worked.
