You know, those things that only powerful people can make up? Yeah. Those. They were the beginning of everything that ever went wrong in my life, but also the thing that led me to the end. Although, I didn't know that at the time, so a few bruises and kisses down the line, I found myself faced with a big problem. I had to choose between three people, all of whom had been lying about everything for months. That wasn't an easy task for someone like me, but the biggest issue? A freak accident on a cruise lands a group of teenagers stranded on an island. Our story begins several months into their fight to survive and to find a way home when a lost member of the group returns with knowledge that could save them all, if they are willing to risk it.

Nissa no longer has anything to lose! -"I was going to die and I hadn't even really lived." Can Nissa really only have three days left? Why isn't she telling anyone. How long can she keep it from her best friend? #4 on the list, Get a boyfriend. ---"I marked out number four. It was ridiculous. I hadn't had a boyfriend in eighteen years. Why would I get one three days before I died? How could I get one three days before I died? What use would it be to get one three days before I died?"

Thomas needed a vacation, but that didn't mean he wanted one. His best friend convinced him to come down to his family's beach house for the summer to unwind, to relax for once. Thomas wasn't swayed easily, but he found himself on a flight to Florida regardless, albeit begrudgingly. Thomas intended to mope around for the three months, drink away his problems, and maybe get a tan in the process. However, his plans were thwarted when an unwanted houseguest from his past arrived the day after his getting there, leaving a bitter tang on the entire "vacation." Not to mention, Thomas was forced to share what he thought was his room with his best friend's wife's ridiculously handsome brother, Dallas. Thomas was on the cusp of drowning in the first week. Relaxation wasn't even on the agenda. He just had to try to keep his head above water.

Can you explain every conscious move you made? Most, probably, but maybe not the most important, the ones that make you who you are, the decisions that define the person you've become. Visiting a tropical island where my narrator didn't want to go in the first place, he almost became responsible for the death of a man. A dear man. An intimate friend... almost.
