Book one of "What is Bought in Blood Must be Repaid" duology When a father dies, the family weeps. When a King dies, the kingdom wails. A life sequestered in the castle with a deadly power that cannot be revealed has left Alula fearing human connection, and placed upon the marriage market will only make her goal of changing Alethium for the better all the more difficult.
