❝"we're done here, jungkook. poppy is sufficiently jealous and that means my job here is finished. i don't know how many times i can rephrase that before you get the message. you don't have to keep talking to me anymore," she says, malice in her voice to hide her sorrow. she's letting him go, because that's what he deserves.
"but what if i don't want to stop talking to you?" he asks with a small smirk. maddie sighs, scooting as far away as she can on the lab bench. jungkook's smirk drops and he drags her stool back to him with no effort at all.
"jungkook, please," she's cut off.
"what if," he smiles at her, "i fell for the wrong girl in the first place."❞

-in order to make his crush jealous, jungkook asks maddie, his lab partner, to be his fake girlfriend. she agrees, unbeknownst to either of them the reason why. especially as maddie has something she keeps a secret from everyone, even her friends. will she be able to hide it from jungkook, too?
