Zemblanity: "The antonym of serendipity... making unhappy, unlucky and expected discoveries by intent rather than by chance."

It's a wonderful world we live in. Nobody has to care about government, laws, taxes, school, war, none of that. It's an urban world taken over by nature and scavengers. The people here are called Dwellers, and they live through trading, exploring, building a small yet strong community, or living off the mutated land alone. Life is good. Life has always been this way.

Except it hasn't. Juvie and their group of friends find this out when they explore PreDweller buildings and find old pictures and documents telling the tale of an older world. A world filled to the brim with people and advanced technology. What happened to that world?

Suddenly, our main characters find themselves pursuing the answer to that question. Instead of living in a peaceful nature based world full of ignorance and safety, they go out of their way to discover the cold, gray, and frightening skeletons of what used to be major cities of what used to be a major country. They've gotten themselves into this mess, and now they can't go back. Not without knowing the history of the world they live in.

The New World has been the last peaceful and resourceful country for nearly two hundred years. Or at least that's what they say. Samantha Ivory has been living a boring average life in an old town with lots of history. That is, until the news of a carnival coming to town ignites new excitement. This carnival promises a night of fun for everyone. There are games, promising rewards, and food that no one has ever seen or tasted before. But what if this carnival isn't what it seems to be? And who are these people that have come into her town? Can Sam figure it out before it's too late, or will she get stuck playing a game she never wanted to play? (Currently completed as of October 2023, and finished editing as of March 2024) *****Excerpt***** Excerpt: Instead of seeing myself standing in front of me, there is somebody else and it's not my brother or anyone I know. A boy no older than me is just standing there, he is wearing a gray shirt with a hole in the shoulder and it has a handful of stains and dirt spots on it. I immediately know he is not from Treegrass. Not only have I never seen him before in my life but everyone in our town always wears nice clean and washed clothes, therefore nobody should be looking like him. The boy has a small cut on his cheek and is thin, a lot thinner than he should be. I look away from him and around at my surroundings, there is no one else here. I regain my composure and look at him again. That's when he says something that makes my blood run cold. "Run."

Castle Rock. A formidable laboratory housing monsters, unwilling subjects and other supernatural entities stationed deep beneath the ice of a tundra in an unknown region of a fragmented world. The place of nightmares that very few know of, the place of cruel and inhumane tests conducted on the innocent. Castle Rock at [DATA EXPUNGED], has experienced a site-wide destabilization due to the intense polar storm that currently is decimating the tundra. These storms are known to be dangerous for a plethora of reasons throughout the world. The Facility and all of it's holding cells & security stations deactivated and disabled due to the storm. Releasing everything without supervision. Hence, this phenomenon being called "Destabilization". Now, Monsters and deviants alike set free to roam. Some take matters into their own hands to escape. (Y/N) is a subject within the bowels of the facility, among the few who have the will to survive. Though, with little knowledge of their own past and current situation, (Y/N) finds some friends along the way. All hoping to find an escape. This story is a little gay, just a little. Hope you enjoy reading, give me any and all feedback The story will randomly transition between reader POV and (Y/N) POV at times. It's subtle, so pay attention. [Sometimes scenes will say "We did (something) and other times [You did (something). It's all the same. Just different POVs Melee killing is violent and gory on purpose. None of the art shown belongs to me. Inspired from various video games. Melee Combat directly based on Decaying Winter Slightly inspired by Rogue Lineage. Gender-neutral reader.

An abandoned holotape and journal was found in the wastes of the Commonwealth, out on the edge of the Glowing Sea. Inside, a diary of a scout-turned explorer with a taste for adventure (and ghouls). Absinthe is a drunkard determined to live life to the fullest, but most of all, to find her place in a broken wasteland where logic is a suggestion and honor is punished. Little does she know arriving to Goodneighbor, searching for work, would begin a chain of events so dire it leaves her *glowing* with rage. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Author's Note: This story is based off of Fallout 4 gameplay events, and I will add a list of mods that inspired this story. Also, listening to the soundtrack of Fallout 4 (https://soundcloud.com/clsoundtrack3/sets/fallout-4-full-games-music?si=616bef7975e9421d943acb6b1d133a5f&utm_source=clipboard&utm_medium=text&utm_campaign=social_sharing) helped me write, so maybe it will help you read. TW: Content may be graphic and/or disturbing, viewer is cautioned. This is included, but not limited to suicide, gore, assault, mutilation, substance abuse, betrayal, etc... While these themes are present and used to describe the world and character experiences, they are in no way glorified and should never be practiced under any circumstances. ***THIS STORY IS NOT COMPLETE. I AM TAKING A MENTAL HEALTH BREAK*** "War... War never changes." The world has seen many technological advances since the end of the war between Ukraine and Russia, which was both a blessing and a curse. In 2072, a war breaks out between the modern sidings of the Allies and the Axis. Americans, Germans and the British Colonies made up the Allies, while Russia, North Korea and China made up the main three of the Axis. The war was at its worst in 2077, when Y/N had just returned from a mission in Russia. He was sent home due to the alleged endangerment of his fellow soldiers, however, this granted him some immunity. His home was in a small town that was populated by no less than 30 people, and nearby was a cryogenics testing facility in the form of a vault. The company that owned it, Vault-Tec, was a government-funded organisation that worked to find ways to preserve human life in the case of a global disaster. Due to Y/N's service history, he was allowed into the vault during the nuclear warhead exchange between America and China, and that's where our story starts. (Fallout 4 belongs to Bethesda All art and music in this story belong to their respective owners Y/N belongs to us)
