A small vessel with human cargo passing through the Caribbean in the early 1700s is beset by supernatural forces in the form of a mysterious woman who arrives during a freak storm. She gives the ship's prisoners the power to escape their binds but in doing so locks them in an unspoken contract from which they cannot truly escape.

The Princess and the Blood of Eternity
A merchant sailing vessel is on the final voyage of the trade season, a journey made more difficult due to the changing weather and the failing of the winds. The world is on the edge of disaster, forests have been harvested to the brink, and the summers have grown hotter and longer.
