His image haunted my thoughts. His shadow, the sound of his footsteps. I longed to hear him breathing...just breathing beside me. Carlos was ever so present in my dreams. Like a phantom so strong, enough to throw me into fits of depression. Try as I could to go on as nothing happened- my life will never be the same. Was it real? is he truly gone? how insane everything is... what was all this intense training for? Was he preparing me for something? did he in some way sense his own demise? But it couldn't be? Carlos San Jose must still be alive! I stood by a tiny window in my apartment, watching as the rain falls. Listening to the splatter of the rain and the threats of thunder. *** Feeling drowsy after chugging a cold beer I threw the can into the garbage bin and headed towards the shower. The trickling of the water, kind of consoled me a bit. Stark naked, as I got out of the shower, wrapping blue towel in my hair and then sitting naked in the chair by the tall mirror. All of a sudden a mist, a hazy one started infecting the sides of the mirror--growing and growing until it was all over it. Thinking it was the effect of the hot shower I took, I tried to wipe it. But then noticing something else when I went close in the mirror. Bob the cat suddenly took a leap on the countertop by the mirror. The feline stared at the mirror knowingly. As though he was human and understood something. Carlos San Jose's cat was suddenly glowing, shining...with a striking glow. Every single item in the room including the mirror, plants, coffee cups, and the tiles of the bathroom, literally every single item inside the house began to glisten like diamonds!!! Specks of golden crystal, what a spectacle! I must have been tripping or losing my mind completely! Now with eyes dazzling-- the real adventure has begun!
