Responding to the crisis, the Seven Worlds deployed their military force, the Rhyus Defense Fleet (RDF), leading to a protracted 20-year conflict that ultimately ended in a peace treaty. Garen Rivers, a general for the RDF, hailed as a hero for his strategy and tactics during the war, commanded the RDF Battle Cruiser, The Riftkin. He protested the peace treaty, believing the Vorcons would rebuild and wage war again. The newly appointed Council of Seven, determined to end the war, dismissed Garen's concerns.
