"A person was detected outside the walls of district 9 commander" " WHAT SHOW ME THE VIDEO" the commander snatches the iPad from the guards hand and watches the video for a second before practically growling in frustration " Its those stupid rats that escaped  district 2 three years ago I thought they were dead, I WANT DISTRICT 9 ON LOCKDOWN NOW" 

Their was a nuclear war and now we all live in the 20 districts the world is a very dry with very little vegetation and small very dry grasslands and the only water is deep underground. To say it's horrible is a horrific understatement the food is completely manufactured the meat isn't real we have our future lives chosen for us at birth and nobody has names unless you remember the one your parents gave you according to the government it's all numbers 

Taylor is done and wants to leave so she cooks up a plain but what will she do when it actually succeeds. 

Tiah wants to get out but because of her and her friends Mae Kailey and Sebastian's previous attempts she is under extra security.
