as you all know, Nintendo has confirmed that Splatoon 3 is in development and is set to release in 2022. so as a celebration, i will be making headcanons as to certain featured such as idols, solo player campaign and many others.
all of these ideas are purely speculation and will not predict what nintendo will release later in development. these headcanons are purely my ideas and are not affilliated with nintendo in any way

Splatoon 3: Coralbed
A splatoon 3 original story, based off of the concepts on Twitter (Squeaky)/Art by Alexis Pflaum (ArtStation). Edit 8-29-22: thank you all for 1k views! Inkopolis bay is a new place to start, no more rotten past following X as they move in. They get situated easily enough, but...they still don't have friends, even with a curious sea hareling named Y following them around. Life is boring for a little while until Y takes them to meet their friends. And for a moment, life doesn't seem so bad... Until they invade. Not Makoids, not Salmonids. The Chrysalings. Strange hybrids of insects and cephalopods have come to Inkopolis bay to take everyone back to their home, wanting to please their ruler with the love for music, friends and battle that everyone has. With X, Y, and a few others surviving hidden in the ship of NS Arctorra, it's up to them to bring everyone back and restore the bay to what it was before.Complete
Black Hybrids ~The 38 Saga's 4th Book~
14 years with peace and quiet; 14 years with no major disturbances; 14 years of Petra being dead, Pearl grieving and the agents of the Squidbeak Splatoon dealing with minor issues. Not to mention Cora (Agent 3) and Tobias (Agent 8) starting a family, Lance and Marie getting married and so much more. 14 years of peace... Isn't that a little too long for our main characters? I think our main villain would agree with that. So what would happen if a familiar member of the huge, confusing family, reappears but as a villain, 3 people already having known about them being alive? (Theoretically) What would happen when people are kidnapped, experimented on, turned evil against their will and forced to fight their families? What if... They couldn't save those who they dearly loved, and had to watch them die? The agents would say that it's nothing new, but within the chaos of this new villain, they would all realise that this fight would be something new. This adventure was going to be different to anything else they have done in their lifetime. This adventure was going to change all of their lives, PERMANENTLY. A Tertiary Perspective
The sequel to A Special View. If you haven't read that book already, what are you even doing here? This book takes place right after the last chapter of A Special View, and the first thing I'm doing is clearing up some plot holes from that chapter. Event wise, humans have returned to Earth. Missing Agent
It's been 4 years since Three saw Eight, and she's getting pretty depressed by that. The fact that the team just recovered from the "Fuzzy goo invasion", and being promoted to captain, isn't really helping much with the captain's personal problems. But when Eight seems to go missing, and there are reports of an invasion where she lives, Captain Three starts getting worried. So... as it turns out, a combination of a sudden new interest in splatoon, procrastination on the Danganronpa book, and a ton of ideas, we now have a new iteration of The Alt Series that needs to be done.
