as you all know, Nintendo has confirmed that Splatoon 3 is in development and is set to release in 2022. so as a celebration, i will be making headcanons as to certain featured such as idols, solo player campaign and many others.
all of these ideas are purely speculation and will not predict what nintendo will release later in development. these headcanons are purely my ideas and are not affilliated with nintendo in any way

Inkopolis bay is a new place to start, no more rotten past following X as they move in. They get situated easily enough, but...they still don't have friends, even with a curious sea hareling named Y following them around. Life is boring for a little while until Y takes them to meet their friends. And for a moment, life doesn't seem so bad... Until they invade. Not Makoids, not Salmonids. The Chrysalings. Strange hybrids of insects and cephalopods have come to Inkopolis bay to take everyone back to their home, wanting to please their ruler with the love for music, friends and battle that everyone has. With X, Y, and a few others surviving hidden in the ship of NS Arctorra, it's up to them to bring everyone back and restore the bay to what it was before.Complete

I will now be posting everything unedited and unfinished for the sake of not feeling bad about the "talent" that middle school me felt when writing this. Her hair color is white and changes color depending on what she wants and almost always changes her hair style. She also changes eye color constantly. So sometimes no one even recognizes her. She heard of rumors of the old subway station and she's seen another inkling who's told her that he's an agent...agent 4, near what seems to be a sewer? 14 years with peace and quiet; 14 years with no major disturbances; 14 years of Petra being dead, Pearl grieving and the agents of the Squidbeak Splatoon dealing with minor issues. Not to mention Cora (Agent 3) and Tobias (Agent 8) starting a family, Lance and Marie getting married and so much more. 14 years of peace... Isn't that a little too long for our main characters? I think our main villain would agree with that. So what would happen if a familiar member of the huge, confusing family, reappears but as a villain, 3 people already having known about them being alive? (Theoretically) What would happen when people are kidnapped, experimented on, turned evil against their will and forced to fight their families? What if... They couldn't save those who they dearly loved, and had to watch them die? The agents would say that it's nothing new, but within the chaos of this new villain, they would all realise that this fight would be something new. This adventure was going to be different to anything else they have done in their lifetime. This adventure was going to change all of their lives, PERMANENTLY.
