60 years ago, I walked away from the wars, the adventures, the danger, the horrific scenes of battle. Instead, I finally returned to the home I hadn't seen since I was a child, except, no one was there. I lived in content, perfectly happy to be away from it all. Happy to farm my own crops, happy to watch the sunset fall, happy to watch my armour collect dust in my old store room. It all changed when someone I hadn't known forever, knocked on my door, and promised me all that I had once known. I agreed, and stepped out my door.

Was it my mistake, or his? I didn't know if it was even a mistake at all...

That's what I am to them, to the government. Roach; the nameless monster with electricity for a sense and lightening as a second nature. It ruined my life, the sparking currents playing tag in my mind, running around and bumping into everything, shaking me loose. The government, actually. They ruined my life. My curse just gave them a reason. You see, the normal population with ordinary DNA, they don't know about the people like me. The roaches of the world. We don't get that kind of recognition at the camps. There, we are only one thing in the military's eyes. We are weapons and we will act like it. Everyone else out there, bathing in the goodness they don't know they've got, they don't know about the roaches their stepping on. As long as their getting closer to the sky, they don't care what they stand on to reach it. They don't know about the sparkling dreamer that's killed 7 people before her 17th birthday. They don't about the ghost of a girl peaking around corners for her entire life because even home wasn't safe. They don't know about the fighter of steel and iron sucking on his bloody lip courtesy of the wars he battles in as nothing but a shadow. They don't know about the masked villain who would do anything to see the army they lead claim the throne They don't know about us. But they will, because we will rise. All my life I felt like a misfit. Like I didn't belong. I tried to find a place I could call home, where someone would look at me and for once take me as I was. There is evil inside of me. I have always felt its presence, lurking from the depths of my soul like a shadow following behind its wearer. I tried to fight it, I ignored that part of me and denied it for as long as I could. Like with famine I thought I could starve it just long enough until I could forget it was ever there. I eventually found my home and my saviour in darkness. I found hope in a shadow so black that even the darkest night seemed a bright contrast to it. I was alone so long, I forgot what it meant to mean something to someone. I had been out in the cold so long, I forgot what it felt like to feel another person's warmth. I made many mistakes in my life and as darkness took a hold of me I was ready to make so many more, until one day someone proved to me there was still another way. Until that day all I had ever known was how to bow and try to survive the day. "At your service!" Used to be the only sentence that would keep the monster at bay.

But that never happened because the forest has a force living through it. Believing that the forest held something strange was the easy part but experiencing it myself was something totally different. I didn't expect anything normal but I didn't expect to be completly engulfed into the forest. I was led by an unknown presence that made me truly believe it was a living being, and in fact it is. I was innocent then, but now I know that anything can be hidden under a small platform in the woods with a secret bigger than the world itself. I was given life that day, until it all ended months later; the day I took my last breath.

I finally realized my destiny when my story came to a close and I realized that I was molded into being the villain all along. Imagine my life as a game, a game where you want to save everyone. But as you go throughout the game you have to make harder questionable decisions. The whole game gets darker and darker. Until you realized that you were not who you thought you were.
