She stopped and looked up at him. What was he playing at? "What did you just say?"
His face flushed in the dying sunlight. "Come ride the motorcycle with me."
Her heart skipped a beat before it pounded hard against her sternum. She swallowed and stared at him. How often had she imagined being on the back of that glorious machine? Too often. "I shouldn't."
"You should. One last ride, before the snow," he suggested with an intense gaze.
She ground her teeth as desire curled in her belly. She took in a shaky breath and let her arms drop to her side.
She was at a crossroads. There was no way he could have anything serious with her and she didn't want anything serious right now. Maybe this was exactly what she needed.
She turned towards his motorcycle and licked her lips. She'd be creaming that, not him. Was it wrong to use a man for his machinery? No, no it was not. "Okay," she gave in.
He reached for her hand and she took it, allowing him to lead her to his Harley.
Holy shit she was going to do this. And half the town was going to witness her riding off with him.
He handed her his helmet and fished out yellow glasses from the leather sack on the side. Within minutes she was behind him on his Harley and they were roaring out of Gestohlenwald.
