this will work different from jojo and there are 3 ways to get stands (4 if i decide to add arrows) 1) At birth 2) hard training to unlock that part of your soul 3) you can find them (this is very rare and the spirit has to "match you" in a way). Wild stands prefer the area they are currently in over moving around and prefer areas suited to them. forests are preferred by nature and healing stands, volcanos are preferred by fire and attack stands, etc. Stands are not so much extensions of the own as they are their own characters who help the stand owner, this is mostly to help add more content without having 7 main characters that each have a stand. there may be memes/references here and there.

The SPW Foundation sends Jōtarō and Polnareff out to find the arrows that awaken stands, as it's told in VA (I know it happens in the '90s but let's say the research started in '89 cause I didn't want too much time to have passed for the pain to be still high). So they re-take the trip, and get to Enya's hotel at some point.
