No more a Portrait on the wall

Three years has gone by since the war ended, and Hermione Granger finds herself working as Hogwarts' new Potions Professor.

As the new term begins, she has been given the task to start making antidotes; one of them that eventually could bring Neville's parents back to sanity after being trapped for years inside their own head by the Cruciatus curse. And though she is known to be the brightest witch of her age, she continues to fail her mission to complete the task - yet it isn't until one late night after having spent hours in the Potions lab that she seeks out the meanest portrait in the Headmistress office; Severus Snape.

After so many years of not being able to see any of his former students, he quickly dismisses his former obnoxious know-it-all student. Happy to have steered clear from her constant babbling for the past years, he makes sure that she won't pay him any visits in the future.

But that's where he's wrong; Hermione continues to pay him a visit, nagging him for hours at a time to at least give her a chance - to help her figure out what she's doing wrong. And with his help, she finally succeeds, which makes her head wander to another thought; to bring back Severus Snape to life.

Though she thinks its a good idea; she is oblivious to the reality he has to face if she succeeds; how he forever has to pay his debt as a Hogwarts Professor and with constant surveillance due to his past.
