A down on her luck adjunct professor living through the pandemic has a strange encounter with a wizard and finds herself transported to Middle Earth. Alone and penniless Adelaide soon finds herself in the employ of Bilbo Baggins. When the quest for Erebor begins to unfold she is persuaded to take on a position in Thorin Oakenshield's company as a scribe. What she did not expect is for sparks to fly between her and the company leader. With her foreknowledge of events, can Adelaide save the Durin line from extinction? Or is she doomed to watch them fall?
