Alone, untethered from her life, and barely keeping it together, Lucee follows the ghost of her dog, Fish, to a small town with ghosts of its own in the mountains of New Mexico. The town is odd enough that her problems aren't the weirdest thing going on but small enough that everybody wants to talk about them. The town's quirky inhabitants -- a celestial wise woman, a mannerless cowboy who runs the general store, and an artist with wild hair and a wilder mind -- push Lucee into examining her broken life whether she's ready or not.
