[Book Three of the Soror Series] A year after Lorien is cured from the mark, she has been living in Asgard-mind several day trips to visit her adopted father and her friends. She has grown close to the Aequumian teenager-Alrekr-and has been learning to control her magic as well as fight with a dagger. For the first time in years, Lorien is truly happy. When Lorien decides she wants to take another trip to Earth for the month of October, Loki was already hesitant. And then she wanted to bring along her two closest friends, Alrekr and Tove. With a little convincing, Loki granted Lorien permission for the trip and arranged for them to stay at the Stark Tower for the month. The first week flew by quicker then Lorien could imagine-stock full of mischief, Asgardians plus Midgardian technology, and complete fun. The three Asgardian teens are having the times of their lives-Lorien and Alrekr are growing closer and Käro is adjusting as the Guardian of an obnoxious teenager. That is, until, their fun comes to a screeching stop. Word comes from Asgard-horrible news. Several Asgardian nobles as well as nobles from other realms have been taken-one of which being Alrekr's father. The worst bit of news, someone is plotting war against Asgard. The Verdant Prince
Asgard- home of the beautiful. Home of the gods and goddesses of the Norse Tales. Buildings built in gold and quartz, the wealthy wearing lavish robes with silver and gold embroidery. It's the home you grew up in, the home in which you served under The Allfather himself. Trained since the tender age of 15, you are part of an elite squad of soldiers. It just so happens you were trained with both Princes of Asgard: Thor and Loki along with the names of many young legends. No matter the royalty of the princes, Prince Loki seems to press all of your buttons simply for fun. As much as you hated it, you began to fall for the Prince of Mischief, rather than the mighty Thor himself. Years later people hold high respect for your name, your small family rising from the slums. {SET BEFORE THE EVENTS OF 'THOR'} - "Did you know," she said, sitting on the ground and turning to the prince, "that Midgard has an entire language dedicated to flowers? Each of them mean something else. It's a very sweet way they can express emotions to each other." Loki laughed quietly. "Midgard can truly be backwards at times, but they are amusing." He nodded to the flower she had just essentially brought back to life. "What does the gardenia symbolize in this language?" "Young love," she answered after a moment of hesitation. "Secret love." Loki felt something flutter in his chest. - Arranged marriages are something out of Shakespeare and ancient history. At least that is the thought of Loki Odinson, but his father clearly has other plans. In a political move aimed to unite Vanaheim and Asgard, Loki is betrothed to the youngest daughter of the royal family of the neighboring realm, Vanaheim. Loki, who doesn't even know if he believes in love at all, finds himself in a very odd position, especially because he's met his betrothed before. A marriage date is set, but both the bride and the groom are less than satisfied. Can love grow out of circumstance?
