Ivy Jane Sommers has had a hard summer. A long hard summer. After losing someone close to her, she is lost and untethered. Until her mom gives her a choice: help her run the estate sale for this obscure mansion, or go back to Carolyn, Ivy's out-of-touch therapist. She chooses the mansion (because who wants to be known as the "therapist girl" at school?) and begins the mindnumbingly boring work of sorting clutter into boxes. Then she stumbles upon a jar filled to the top with paper cranes.
Soon, with the help of a boy (that she maybe might like?), she begins to see how these cranes are part of a vast web connecting her, the boy, the mansion, and an old dusty journal, as they embark on a curious, mysterious, and captivating journey into the past.
One awful night, 6 best friends. Love, secrets and alcohol. A tragedy.
One year later Ivy Celino tries to get away from it all, to get a fresh start. Only she can't escape the nightmares that plague her mind every time she closes her eyes. With a help of a newfound friend, she pieces together what really happened that night. Uncovering secrets that may have been better left untold.
(A/N I promise the story is actually better than the description)
