"Well, you look like yourself, but you're somebody else"

The first thing Ashton noticed as he woke was pain. A full bodied, debilitating pain. He saw only the blinding white ceiling, the smell of chemical cleaners burned in his nose. He could hear the rapid beeping of his own heart monitor as its tempo increased.
And then, "Leon?" The figure shifted, a familiar shape. But he held his body differently, posture stiff, slightly taller, not quite right.
Ashton turned his head to look at the man across the room. A hospital room, the accident. "Who are you?" Ashton asked because this - this man, dressed to the nines in a three piece suit, one leg crossed elegantly over the other - this was most certainly not Leon, no matter the resemblance.
"When my brother spoke of his lovely wife Alex," Not-Leon began, "I did not imagine you."

In a terrible case of mistaken identity, Ashton Irwin finds himself countries away from home raising a child that is not his in a family he can't deserve.
When I face him again, Ashton is smiling. He leans back slowly in his seat, resting his folded hands on his stomach. "This is gonna be fun."
I narrow my eyes at him. "What's gonna be fun?"
"Winning you over."
I have to bite back the vomit that fights to exit through my mouth. "Excuse me?"
"It's a challenge now."
"Nobody challenged you to anything."
"I have challenged myself."
"Well, that sounds like a personal problem." I grit my teeth. "I am not your challenge."
Ashton just smiles at me. "We'll see about that."
Disclaimer:
-This story is a work of fiction. Some people are real, but situations are entirely mine and made up.
-I took a little bit of liberty as far as how situations that might have happened unfold. I did tons of research, but the plot calls for some changes. Hope you don't mind!
-Mature for frequent swearing and sexual themes
-**Trigger warning** there is a later chapter that deals with mature themes (sexual assault). If you feel the need, please skip the chapter, which will have an additional warning at the top of it.
