"But Lil- we aren't supposed to work. We aren't supposed to be people who fall in love."

"Do you think I don't know that Draco? Do you think I wanted to fall in love with you so deeply, so hard? Remember you were the one who fancied me first! Remember...only a few years ago."

"Yes, I did but-"

"Draco. Love...please. Just stop. I'm willing to risk my friends-risk my life-to be with you. Everything will change if we stay together. Start a life together, outside of this war. But I love you Draco Lucius Malfoy!" The tears starting to form in her eyes bled out, falling down her cheeks silently.

"I-I love you too Lil. But I don't want you to do this for me. I...I don't want you to die. For me. For anyone."

"Do you love me enough to stay with me? Go through this war with me, and come out together? Build a life after this mess?"

"Yes Lilac. I do. But don't die on me. Don't save me. I don't want to break you. Because I love you, and I can't live without you."

"I'm not going anywhere Draco. But you can't break me. We are both already broken souls. We fit that way." He put his thumb on her cheek a rubbed it back and forth, wiping the tears away while new ones fell over his thumb. He pulled Lilac into a hug, grasping her so tightly he nearly crushed her abdomen.

Takes place in 6th year. Lilac Grey is in Gryffindor.

Lilac Grey is the closest with Theodore Nott, they tell each other everything. She is also close with the Golden Trio and Fred and George. The past burns into her mind, never leaving her. But he is no longer with her. He abandoned her.

With the war coming everything is changing. Including friendships. But Draco is trying his best to stay away from Lilac, to protect her. It's getting harder and harder to keep pushing her away.

The war may break them apart and make their lives a living hell during all of it.
But aren't they Yuanfen?
