Percy is starting at a new school as a freshman. He is leaving his past life behind including how his mother is breaking up with Gabe and how he got kicked out of his old school. He wants to try to at least stay at this school, but when he meets Rachel Dare, an unwanted girl who tries to win him over, and Luke Castellan, Annabeth's abusive ex-boyfriend who tries to get her back, all his plans may be ruined.
