The untold life of the character Life-In-Death. Intelligent, proud and using her death to get what she wants, she is a protagonist even the reader won't like. You don't need to have read Coleridge's famous poem: "Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner" to love this short story! Rethinking her character and re-imagining the possibilities for this story (especially in the relationships between the characters) was the focus.
