For ten years, Lanferlow has longed for a cause of joy, but ever since the death of the benevolent king, an event which led the reins of the kingdom to his widowed queen, there has been no such occasion until now.

Far away from the glamorous world of royalty, Renae Hopsghzolat, a hunter known among the people of her district for her skills and ruthlessness, is trying to get by, managing the family, as her father slowly loses his strength and mind.
