In the future the United States is split in half; the South is a populated metropolitan while the North is untamed and wild. At first glance it would appear that life in the South would be superior; civilization for one thing and Kyra agrees, that is until she meets Ellis.

Kyra has grown up counting down the days until she gets picked by a suitor to be married and wisked off into a life of social dinners and following her husband's word. She loves the security and routines of the rules that are and everyday part of life in the South. And above all, Kyra is thankful for the wall that separates her from the wild Northerners.

That is until she meets Ellis.

Against the odds, Ellis and Kyra fall in love and vow to stay together. Whatever the costs, Kyra leaves behind her entire life to seek the freedom she never knew she yearned for.
