This novella is set in the 'More to Life' series universe and will contain major spoilers if you plan to read the series, but haven't read to the end of book 2. This can also be read as a stand-alone novella. When a tragic death turns a trio of childhood friends into a duo, Shawn must cope while ensuring his best friend, Mitch doesn't self-destruct. Guilt consumes Shawn over the distance between him and Emily and how he broke her heart, which led to her enduring more abuse and addiction in her short life. Determined not to fail his living best friend, Shawn pulls Mitch away from partying with toxic people who'd hurt Emily until they have a big fight the night after Emily's funeral. Mitch's choice leaves Shawn devastated and more committed to protecting his friend. With the help of notes Emily left him after her death, will Shawn save his friend and forgive himself for the past? Warnings: This work deals with the topics of depression, self-harm (briefly and not explicitly), and addiction. Cover image by Alessio Lin from Unsplash

When faced with passion and potential heartbreak or safety and shared values, Maria must choose which risk is most worthwhile. This is Book 2 in the More to Life series.
