The warmhearted Princess Kaori of the Selkie Trible always had her destiny laid out for her: forbidden to use her waterbending powers to fight due to her gender, she would live out her life in her tribe as a healer, and then marry the revered Prince Kaholo. However, with her destiny catching up to her, Kaori decides to run away from her beloved tribe, to explore the world she's only heard about in stories.
The icy-gazed Princess Azula is angry and vengeful. After betraying everyone she loves and being exiled from her home, she seeks out a Northern Spirit as a last ditch effort to regain her most powerful skill: her lightningbending. However, when Azula's plans derail and she is cursed, she must find a way to restore balance within her, or else she will be burned alive by her anger.
When the paths of these two girls cross, they must work together to help each other survive, before the flame of their luck dies out and their hopes are washed away.

Sakari loves being a part of the Northern Water Tribe, but it's not without its faults. Namely, women not being allowed to waterbend. She finds it particularly frustrating given how vulnerable Sakari feels her little family is. With her Dad having disappeared out at war 7 years ago, it's just been her, Gramps, and her mother, Sesi, ever since. And she loves them to bits but sometimes it terrifies her. She still remembers clear as day how it felt to almost lose them too. She's not going to risk it. So, one night, she packs her bags and heads to Agna Qel'a disguised as a boy to learn waterbending. When the Avatar and his friends arrive with the Fire Nation not far behind, her life takes an even bigger turn. (Mulan AU, zuko x oc)
