When the war first started, American scientists created a virus that contained the same radiation used in nuclear bombs, only to have it backfire and spread throughout North America.
Meet Frankie. She is used to being a careless and rebellious teen, but everything has changed.

In order to protect themselves, the world population trap their towns and cities in bubbles; the safe Inside. The bugs roam Outside, where they will stay until either the bugs or humans die out. William Pie, the son of one of these bubble's mayors, makes the bad decision to go Outside with his friends one day, and it doesn't take long for his whole life to fall apart as a consequence.
