Now, in the coldest, darkest, part of the night the crank is about to take his final exhale when Hiraeth finds him. She is kind and independent, everything Newt needs. She is also immune. Hiraeth and her honorary mother take Newt in, making sure he makes it through the first night. And when he does, he finds a new life waiting for him on the other side.
