This story was based on the several Mario & Luigi games that have been released over the years.

"A disease causing Mushroom Kingdom citizens to follow Bowser's rule slowly begins to spread across the Mushroom Kingdom; however, Mario and Luigi are the only ones there who haven't gotten the disease, and they got out just in time. Now they make a journey to Bowser's castle to stop Bowser and Kamek once and for all to make sure that the kingdom goes back to the way it used to be."
