Cowhead does what he has done best since the beginning of time -- he escorts dead souls to the Underworld, where the Lord of the Shadows appraises them before sending them into the afterlife. During one of these missions, Cowhead poses as Lord Yi, and meets the uncouth but charming Dong Fangyu, a mortal spinster who has yet to marry due to her very nature.
As the two fall in love, they both try their best to overcome the odds to be together--but can they? The heavenly laws dictate that a psychopomp and a mortal woman who has to go through many incarnations cannot be together.
And yet, the both of them are willing to try anyway.
Will they end up together? Only time will tell.
