Upon her laughing at my struggle, a smile naturally creeps onto my face. "Sorry. What I mean to say is I would like for you to come with me. If you come, you could finally know what my job is." She grins widely. "Because you are not a mechanic, but you won't tell what your real job is." "Exactly, but if you come..." She presses her lips together and then pouts slightly. "I can't." My smile drops. "I'm sorry, Max, my flight leaves Thursday morning." Disappointed, I shrug in an attempt to play it casual. "It's okay," I say softly, and she scrunches her nose at the pet name.
