I held onto him for dear life and tried to stop crying so I can look him in the eyes and talk to him, but trying to remain calm after what had just happened, trying to keep him conscious and trying to stop the blood is a lot to do in a panicked state.
"Why did you do it.." i tried to speak while trying not to let my voice break too much, i looked at him when he suddenly gained the strength to lift his hand up and wiped my tears with his fingers.
"Please.. please don't cry. I'd take any bullet for you in a heartbeat, my love." he manages to softly speak before his eyes get too heavy to stay open any longer.
