'Loyal' is a collection of poems that explore a wide range of emotions. Written in the midst of a deep and hollow spell of isolation and quarantine, I needed to create something; anything that would be a bright light for me. So, I started writing through my worry, my fear, my hopelessness, my joy, my cautious optimism and my grief. And, amidst all of that chaos, I tried to shine a positive light on everything that was happening. I wanted to be both loyal to my experiences and my writing. That's why this new book is titled 'Loyal'; because my loyalty is all that I had.

Shock. Once the shock wore off, I was confused. Then angry. You made me so angry because I felt betrayed by your choice. Your choice to leave me, leave me all alone in this dark world. I felt so angry and betrayed by your choice to desert me when you were all I had. Then I accepted the fact that you were no longer here because that's just how it was and how it had to be. I had to learn to accept the fact that life was now me without you and that was a damn hard pill to swallow.
