Rue Walsh always thought they lived up to the meaning of their first name: regret. Abandoned by their parents and sent into the foster care system of a dingy farm town; they never tried to stick around longer than needed to become another regret. Problem child; runaway; all these terms they wear with pride.
But what will happen when in their latest attempt to flee their foster home they live up to both their name sakes, and become a foreigner full of regret in the inter-dimensional town of Pine Wood?

Frozen in time and overrun by a cult that seeks blood of newcomers to appease their god, a target is instantly placed on their back. And though refuge is found in the arms of a shepherd; Rue will quickly learn that even within strict religion, all will sin with the right motivation.
