This is a story I've had in my head for a long time! hope you like it! (note: English is not my first language, so there might be spelling errors! 
The story is about a teen girl (Riley) stuck in a polluted California. The government with no acceptable plan creates the zone. A human-made bubble that covers not even half the earth to "temporarily" keep the civilization safe. But there's a catch...
