Roman Feu is about as normal as you can get. Well, y'know, for someone who has average grades, an annoying little brother, and one of the lead roles in the school musical. But yes, apart from that, he's normal.

Janus Mensonge, on the other hand, is a lot more...closeted. He sticks to himself and is known in the smaller circles of school as the makeup and chemistry whiz. And even /that/ group of people is small.

But when Janus ends up working backstage a few weeks before opening night, the two quickly become fast friends. Just friends. Nothing more.
Besides, they're both completely, totally, one-hundred-percent straight.
Right?

Virgil Anxiety Black was in his room recovering from a panic attack when the castle is stormed. His best friend, Remus Lucious, has just enough time to help him escape before throwing himself back into the battle in an effort to save his boyfriend and Virgil's brother, Crown Prince Janus. Virgil finds himself running through the woods and unknowingly crosses the border between his kingdom and the kingdom next door. There Virgil is found by Crown Prince Roman, Remus's semi-long not exactly lost twin. Not recognizing Virgil as royalty and only seeing the garbs that show him as a citizen of another kingdom Roman does what he thinks is best. He gives the poor boy a panic attack while simultaneously arresting him and throwing him in the dungeons. While Roman recruits the help of his two best friends to help him figure out who Virgil is and why he's in their territory Virgil is rightfully panicking over the recent events. After a few hurt feelings and a couple death stares the Light Realm learns what transpired next door. In an effort to help both kingdoms Roman's and Virgil (now acting King Virgil) make a truce and put aside their differences. Roman and his two friends, Marquess Patton and Lord Logan, join Virgil in this epic quest to save their brothers, and the Dark Realm kingdom. Like any great tale this book is filled with Fear! Love! Betrayal! Heartbreak and Despair! And let's not forgot proper non homophobic LGBTQ representation! After his caring mother is killed in a horrible car crash that should have killed Virgil as well, his father realizes that Heavens angels are trying to send Virgil back to Hell despite him not doing anything bad. Virgil is sent to his Uncle Patton's place to live and goes to a new school. There he meets an annoying kid who somehow befriends him, but little does he know the kid was sent by his father to protect him. The religious parts of this story is based loosely (very loosely) around christianity. Pairings will be prinxiety, logicality, and demus, if it's not your jam that's fine you don't need to read. There will be trigger warnings at the beginning of every chapter that will include cursing, death and blood. Fond nonetheless. They're as close as he'd like them to be. Which is very, very close. A job, where he gets to see that one cute coworker every day, and they can trade snarky comments about whatever sparks their interest that day. Nothing like handing someone a hot coffee while a hot guy whispers hot takes in your ear. A secret, double life, fighting the supervillain Illusion. Who, it just so happens, has the most adorable smile and laugh and eyes and - superheroes were not supposed to be attracted to the very people trying to hurt their city, right? Nor were they supposed to help them defend it against an even worse, more deadly one. Roman Trente has, in summary, the perfect life. Janus 'Deceit' Sanders and Remus 'Duke' Sanders have been bestfriends since the split, though Janus acted as the responsible, adult one despite being the same age. Remus had always been vocal about his feelings until Virgil left, calling him too emotional. Janus had always been the one to lock his feelings and emotions away never really showing them. He did this ever since he was a child, wanting to show little weakness and to be strong for the others. These both came with major consequences, Remus often found it difficult to voice his feelings out without getting mad at himself or someone else for how he was feeling. Janus had to find other ways to cope with his feelings, mostly unhealthy. But what happens when these two dorks fall for each other? I'll tell you, mutual pinning and miscommunication, with tons of angst with some hurt/comfort fluff. *Completed* Virgil has never had it easy, not since he was kicked out of his home by his own father. He's struggled to survive, and has fought for food. He sees what should have been an easy meal, some berries on a tree hanging over the river. It should have been easy to get it, of course the stupid branch had to break and he was sent plummeting into the river. Roman loves to sneak away from his colony and his fae duties to head to the river, he's always wondered what is on the other side of it. Of course, he and everyone else in his colony is banned from crossing it. One day though, a stranger with no wings and a tail washes up on the river bank. When he takes him back to the colony, he's put in charge of taking care of him. Thomas has inherited his home from family, it's in the middle of nowhere in a forest. It was nice, and not too far from his home is a nice river he can explore. Of course it can't be so simple though, since Thomas is in debt and could very well lose the home. Not wanting to lose a home that had been in his family for so long, he struggles to find some way to pay it off. Normally, Lewis wouldn't care but it's the bullying he could've faced, his mother was fond of Greek and Roman gods before she passed. Lewis being left with an absent father who would spend his days with his friends and come home late at night gave Lewis multiple problems, especially when he came home drunk. Only Virgil and Remus know his name. Lewis has Vitiligo which takes up 80% of his right face/right side of his body. He has always hated it, it would get him bullied. Some secrets slip.... Remus Floyd Callouse, having a brother who was popular served him no good. His parents would compare them to even the, both were negatively affected. Remus has access to internet before he could walk, while Roman was a social butterfly but was saw too many insecurities within him. Remus' humor developed weirdly, leaving him to very little friends- 2, Virgil and Lewis. But after a fight back in the 7th grade, it soon became just Lewis. Remus is very forgetful which is good for secrets. Virgil Storm Westin, being an only child with several successful cousins did no good. He developed anxiety due to his parents lack of attention. His parents broke up when he was younger. Dad always blamed him and he never visited his mom. He became friends with Lewis and Remus in the 3rd grade when they all met. They fell out in 7th and Virgil found Patton who took him to his friend group in 8th. Virgil never told any secrets.
