I was participating in a writing competition with some of my friends where we followed the prompt: "Into The Woods" I'm hoping to post more of my short stories from these competitions on here!
Here's the first one. I won second place between three people.
I know I could just make it a book with all of the different stories, but, whatever, this is more fun.

Ena is the daughter of two farmers who had come to America as French Immigrants. She's wandering to school one day when she uncovers a cat, and follows him Into The Woods.

Loosely Inspired by: Sea Witch by Sarah Henning and part of The Merciless by Danielle Vega

*I used Google Translate for all of the French.
*The dog does not die.
*The goals of this story was to write most of the dialogue in French, but to still make everything that is going on comprehensible. (I.G. You know what's going on and what is being said by context clues as opposed to other things.)
*Was it the siren that drowned her? Or was it hallucinations?
