It all started one summer night, the last party before the beginning of their senior year. Sydney McLaughlin is usually the type to avoid big crowds but when her best friend Bentley drags her to a party, she ends up getting a ride home with Jayden Larson, the football captain, and that's where things changed.

Jayden wants to get closer to Sydney but she's scared to jeopardize her friendship with his sister. They made a deal to be just friends, but things don't always stick to plan.

Sydney never thought she'd fall for her best friend's brother, yet he didn't think he'd fall for his sister's best friend.

But now, I have an idea. It's possibly genius or very very stupid.

"Kiss me." Did I mention I'm an idiot?

"Excuse me?" she practically screams. I swear her eyes are about to bug out.

"I dare you to." A beat of silence. "I bet you won't."

"Stop pretending as if you know me. I would if I wanted to. But frankly, I think you're an arrogant prick." Wow, she's hot when she's mad.

"Well, I can't argue with that." Silence. She's very good at that. "What are you afraid of Angel?"

"I'm not!"

At this point my whole body is turned to look at her, so I bend down slightly and bring my mouth close to her ear so I can whisper: "Prove it."
