❝ thanatophobia: (n.) the phobia of losing someone you love ❞ • • • At ten years old after his mother's death, Percy did not stand up and fight. He ran. He ran and ran and ran until he collapsed in an alleyway, near ready to follow his mother's descent. He may have been successful, if he hadn't met Gotham's Dark Knight. Percy sits up in his bed, his memories effectively pushing the sleep from his system. Batman had scooped him up and whispered promises of a better life, one with his friend Bruce Wayne. Percy could never recollect how he ended up in a plush bed inside Wayne Manor that same night, or how he ended up joining the coveted Wayne family. All he knew of was the gentle hands of their butler tending to his wounds and the warm smiles of Bruce Wayne and his ward: Dick Grayson. Percy inhaled sharply. He remembers the boy's laughter and reddening cheeks as young Percy commented on how unfortunate his name was. For the two years that he was fostered by Alfred Pennyworth, Dick Grayson was his best friend. Percy swings his legs over the bed. He hadn't thought of the Wayne's in a while. • • • in which percy jackson returns to wayne manor, in hopes that he hasn't made his old family wait too long for him. I'll be good
Damian Al Ghul has been sent on a mission by his mother, Talia Al Ghul in order to prove his worth to her and his grandfather as a suitable heir to their family. Damian has been raised as an assassin but quickly realizes he doesn't want to become a killer. Whilst on his mission, he runs away and boards any transport he can find. He soon discovers he's stranded in Gotham City with nowhere to go, unaware he's caught the eye of Gotham's most fierce protector. *note*: this fanfiction doesn't follow everything canonically. For example: Damian intentionally has blue eyes in this fic instead of green purely for plot purposes. This fanfiction was inspired by the song 'I'll be good' by Jaymes Young.
